Don’t Use Them As Tools
We’ve all seen it and done it, needed to tear a tag off of a shirt and used our teeth instead of grabbing scissors. Even though you may be tempted to do this again and again (or even with other things) make sure that you don’t use your veneers as a tool. This kind of pressure and strain that you put on your teeth can results in cracks and chips; leaving you having to get a whole new set of veneers.
Take Care of Them
We tell all of our veneer patients to take care of their veneers just like their normal teeth. Make sure to brush them twice a day, to floss them at least once a day, and to come into our office every six months for a dental check-up.
Avoid Tobacco Products
Whether it’s vape, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, huka, or any other form of tobacco, it can wreak some serious havoc on your teeth; including staining, making you more prone to infection, and causing oral cancer. Try to quit tobacco products as soon as possible; that way you aren’t putting your oral health and physical health at risk of things like cancer and decay.
