One of the most important things to us at Arcadia Dental Arts is creating an environment where our patients feel like family and friends. It all started when Dr. Pappas met his family’s new dentist who would later become his inspiration for following his own path to becoming a dental professional.
Dr. Pappas grew up in a small town in northern Alberta. Everyone knew each other and everywhere you went, they called you by name. He was always fearful and anxious when going to the dentist, until one day when his family decided to switch dentists.
He recalls it was around the middle school years and his first impression of their new family dentist was that he was “cool” and he seemed to really like being a dentist. Over time, he realized he didn’t just like it. He loved it! He treated his patients like family and friends and made them feel comfortable and at ease.
Dr. Pappas started to become interested in dentistry, and his dentist noticed and started letting him come into the office to see how things worked. Eventually, he finished his undergraduate degree and moved to Omaha, Nebraska to attend a dental school where he fell even more in love with dentistry than he thought he would.
One of Dr. Pappas’ favorite things about dentistry is being around people and being able to help them. He always knew he was interested in healthcare and working with his hands. He loves that each day brings a new story, a new way of helping someone or a new interaction with an old friend.
