What’s Gum Recontouring?
- Posted on: Mar 15 2018
When it comes to having the perfect smile it’s about a lot more than having straight, white teeth. In fact, it’s also about your gum line. If you have a “gummy smile” where it seems like more of your gums show than your actual teeth, you may want to consider a procedure from Arcadia Dental Arts called Gum Line Recontouring.
What’s the Procedure like?
Traditionally, gum recontouring is done by using a scalpel and stitches to help shorten the gumline and expose more of your teeth. Here at our office, however, we use laser to help with the entire gum recontouring procedure. The reason why Dr. Pappas likes to use laser over the traditional method is because it gives him more precision when it comes to recontoring your gum line. Additionally, because laser is non-invasive, you won’t have to worry about any sort of downtime or recovery time in the process.
What Are Results Like?
During your initial consultation at our office, we will not only perform an oral evaluation of yourgumline but we will also discuss the results you are looking for. As with all types of procedures, results from gum line contouring vary from patient to patient. On average, however, by simply reshaping the gumline and making it smaller, patients notice a less gummy smile they are proud to show off.
If you are self-conscious about your smile and want to make some cosmetic changes, we not only offer gum recontouring but we offer full smile makeovers as well. Are you ready to learn more about gum recontouring? Schedule your consultation at our Phoenix office today.
